Dr Anand has led more than 60 investments with 20 successful exits including 2 Unicorn exits in
Biotech & Pharma. Some of the notable exits have been as follows: BioVex-Acquired by Amgen for
USD1 Billion, Matrix Labs-Acquired by Mylan Labs for USD 1.1Billion, Idun labs-Acquired by Pfizer,
eBeecare by Raffles Hospital & Acquisition of Epsilon-Oncology Formulations company by Amneal
Pharma (USA).
Prior to GOVIN, Anand served as the Senior Vice President & Head of the Investment & Spin-Off
Management Division at A*ccelerate, Innovation & Commercialisation arm of A*STAR, Singapore
(2009-2012). Prior to A*ccelerate, Anand served as a member of the Direct Investments Life Sciences
team at Temasek Holdings, Singapore (2001-2009)
Anand serves as Chairman of the Boards of Cialfo (Singapore), Greenline Labs (India), CellBeans
Healthcare Informatics (India) & Perilwise InsurTech (India). In addition, Anand is also the President,
Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA), Charter Member, TiE Singapore, Advisory Board
member of TIE-U University of Hyderabad (India), Right Walk Foundation (India), member of
Singapore-India Chambers of Commerce & Singapore Business Federation. He served as an
Innovation Advisory member (Biomedical Sciences) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research &
Technology (SMART), Singapore (2011-2015).
Anand started his professional career at AIIMS, New Delhi. He received a Doctorate degree in
Management (Honoris Causa) from KEISIE International University, South Korea; Master's degree in
Business Administration from California State University, East Bay, USA; Master of Science degree
from The National University of Singapore, Singapore and Master of Science degree in Molecular
Biology & Biotechnology from G B Pant University, India. He also has a Certificate in IP
Commercialization from The Global CONNECT-University of San Diego, USA.
Anand is a recipient of the prestigious Asia Pacific Innovative Education Leadership Award (2019), Dr
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (2016); Temasek Sponsorship (2003);
NUS-Overseas Post-Graduate Research Scholarship (Singapore, 1997); GATE Fellowship (1995);
Department of Biotechnology Merit Scholarship (India, 1993). Anand believes in giving back to the
society through his foundation focused on social service work by organising food camps for the
underprivileged.
